Is there a website that provides ad-free free web hosting? I tried out couple of them, but always had problems with dns or other.

The last two questions don't have real answers, and the first question has a bunch of criteria that Jay does not seem to have, so I don't really feel it's a duplicate. - OverloadUT
Should they also deliver puppies to your door? :P - Phoshi
Between all the suggestions and links, like John T's free-webhosts.com/webhosting-01.php, I figured they covered the ad-free part. - hyperslug
Regarding criteria, it's likely the same (free, static files, not blacklisted, low traffic). Unless he was looking for a blacklisted host... - hyperslug

Dreamhost Apps [1] is really great if what you want to host is simply a popular webapp such as phpBB, WordPress, Drupal, or MediaWiki.

It's completely free with no ads. The idea is that you'll love their service and eventually when you want to be able to host more (or install your own mods or whatever) you'll seamlessly upgrade to one of their paid plans. But if you're happy with a simple install you can just have it free forever!

I have a few friends that use this service and have had a very happy experience with it.

there seems to be a problem with this website, the sign up keeps complaining about incorrect captcha! - Jay

You may be interested in MemeBot [1]. You get free hosting, with the ability to run cgi/php scripts, if you want. You can't use MySQL or any other real database, but you can use SQLite. Also, they have a handful of ready-to-install apps (like wiki, blog, etc) if you want them.

http://www.awardspace.com [1] has free hosting, they also let you use PHP and MySQL. The only ads they show are for 404 pages.
